ASUS E410 14-Inch Slim Laptop Review

Plenty for light document work, but multitasking with lots of open tabs can feel frustrating.

Design & Finish

The navy blue lid with a brushed-metal pattern looks fairly upscale for this price range. At around 1.3kg, it barely registered as extra weight in a backpack. The built-in number pad is also a genuine plus if you do a lot of spreadsheet or accounting work.

Setup & Usage

Initial setup was the standard Windows install process, nothing to trip over. That said, base storage meant free space dropped noticeably from the initial updates alone. If you're planning to work with large files like photos or video, I'd set up an external SSD or cloud storage from day one.

Performance / Real-World Testing

For light work like writing documents, email, and video calls, it stayed comfortably responsive. The problem is once you're working with 10+ browser tabs open — that's when switching speed noticeably slows and occasional input lag creeps in. I wouldn't recommend it for video editing or heavy software, but as a secondary laptop for documents, online classes, or video calls, it's a reasonable pick.

Battery, Heat & Other Details

Battery lasted a full day of document work without a charge. Heat stayed at a tolerable level even on my lap for extended sessions, and fan noise was on the quiet side. My one complaint: speaker volume is low enough that I had to crank it near max during video calls.
