A black steel core with a gray urethane coating. The head is bigger and more angular than a standard fixed dumbbell, which felt a bit clunky at first — but it made sense once I understood the shape is what lets the dial selectively lock onto different weight plates.
Dial Adjustable Dumbbell | Weight adjusts across 5 levels in 2.5kg increments.
Setup & Usage
No assembly required — just set it on the stand and turn the dial to your desired weight. Turning the dial moves a pin that locks onto only the selected weight plates; the clicking sound felt unfamiliar the first few times but I got used to it quickly.
Performance / Real-World Testing
The biggest upside is how fast you can transition between sets. Going from squats straight into shoulder press used to mean hunting for a different pair of dumbbells — now it's a 3-second dial turn. It actually made resting between sets easier to manage precisely, too.
Dial Adjustable Dumbbell | Turning the dial automatically selects the weight plates.
That said, since the lowest weight starts at 2.5kg, it can feel a bit heavy for rehab exercises or very light stretching. Worth factoring in if you're new to strength training.
Durability, Noise & Other Details
Over a month of roughly 5 uses a week, I didn't find any scratches or peeling on the urethane coating. That said, turning the dial to the max 20kg setting started feeling slightly stiff — not enough to affect use. The mechanical click when turning the dial could be distracting if you work out early in the morning in a quiet house.

Comfortable padded handles and a trustworthy door anchor make this 5-band set an effective tool for rehab and home strength workouts. Reaching the full 150lb limit requires clipping multiple bands together, and the natural latex material is unsuitable for latex allergies.
Solid 800 lb weight capacity, fast spring-lock adjustments, and an extremely compact folded footprint make this a versatile pick for small home gyms or apartments. Padding feels quite stiff, the vertical angle falls short of advertised specs, and slight frame movement can occur under heavier barbell presses.
