Shark CH951 UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus Cordless Handheld Vacuum Review

Design & Features

At 2.8 lbs (1.27 kg), the unit is engineered for easy single-handed handling across stairs, furniture, and car interiors. It features dual super-cyclone airstreams designed to sustain suction and prolong filter life, paired with a washable filter that keeps long-term maintenance costs low. For debris, it uses an XL dust cup aimed at handling heavier pet-hair loads without constant dumping. In terms of attachments, it includes a self-cleaning Pet Power Brush designed to remove tangled hair from upholstery and brush rolls, along with a standard crevice tool and scrubbing brush for tight spaces.

Setup & Usability

Charging and operation are straightforward, requiring only a connection to the corded charger between uses. Reviewers frequently note that the lightweight design prevents wrist and arm fatigue during tight-space maneuvers in vehicles or along stair treads. However, because it relies on an internal non-swappable battery, total runtime on a charge remains a hard limit. Owners emphasize that this is a spot-cleaning appliance rather than a replacement for a full-sized vacuum.

Performance & Spot Cleaning

Across thousands of verified owner reviews, the handheld receives strong marks for suction power relative to its size and $69.99 price point. The self-cleaning Pet Power Brush is regularly highlighted for minimizing tangled pet hair compared to conventional mini brush heads. While it is not designed for deep carpet cleaning or whole-room coverage, owners find it highly effective for picking up stray fur and debris from car mats, couch cushions, and hard-to-reach corners. A few reviewers mention that the plastic catch on the dust cup feels somewhat lightweight, but overall satisfaction remains high for spot cleanup tasks.
